Another World is Possible
The Eagle and the Condor Liberation Front (ECLF) is an autonomous inter-tribal organization in struggle. The ECLF is guided by the Quechua-Andean prayer of the Eagle and the Condor, that prays Indigenous peoples of the North (Turtle Island) and South (Pachamama) would reunite to liberate materially, psychologically, and spiritually Abya Yala (the continent). As a political collective of diverse members, the ECLF commits itself to community-oriented work for the liberation and self-determination of all Indigenous peoples across the continent and the world. Ultimately, the ECLF seeks to abolish oppressive structures of power grounded in strategies of radical study, purposeful community-building, and cross-political coalitional organizing within the university and/or the land we are based. The ECLF is anti-capitalist and anti-colonial.
As adherents to the “Sexta Declaración de la Selva Lacandona,” our internal principles are adopted from los siete principios de los pueblos de mandar obedeciendo from the EZLN of autonomous Zapatista territory and of the CNI-CIG of Mexico and the United States, which follows as: servir y no servirse, construir y no destruir, obedecer y no mandar, proponer y no imponer, convencer y no vencer, bajar y no subir, representar y no suplantar. We also consider as internal principles the philosophy of caminar preguntando and queremos un mundo donde quepan muchos mundos.
